How Episode Lists Work

A title page in AniFam shows episodes in numbered order, sometimes grouped in ranges for very long series. The AniFam for Android app shows the episode grid for a series, so a viewer can jump to a range rather than scrolling one episode at a time. Watching in numbered order is the safe default for story driven series.

Where Specials and Movies Fit

Specials and movies sit near the series they belong to, but their place in the story varies. A special may be a side story that fits anywhere, or a bridge between seasons that should be watched in a specific spot. Check the title page description and the episode list grouping: a special listed after a season usually belongs after that season, while a standalone movie can often be watched after the series. A Plan for Long Series

For a series with hundreds of episodes, set a daily episode count that fits real life, such as two episodes a night, and use the continue watching row as the bookmark. Skipping filler episodes is a personal choice: a filler guide from a fan community can shorten a long run, but first time viewers often enjoy the slower episodes too. If You Get Lost

If the story stops making sense, check the episode number against the title page list, because jumping from a search result can land mid season. Return to the continue watching row, which points at the next unwatched episode, and rewatch the last two episodes if the gap was long. A short recap from the title description usually restores the thread.
